As a person in long-term recovery from substance use, I made the decision to go back to school at the age of 32, with one year clean from all substances. In my transition into higher education, I realized that navigating college is challenging--especially as an older student with no college preparation or knowledge of how to do it. Luckily, I was committed.
I started at the Community College of Philadelphia where I received an Associates of Arts in Education and then transitioned to Wellesley College on a full-scholarship where I received a Bachelors of Arts in Sociology. Currently, I'm a student at Harvard University getting a Masters of Education in Human Development and Higher Education.
In this journey, I realized that I would have benefitted greatly from a service that helped support me and held my hand as I went from school to school. Now, I have a passion for helping others reach their dreams academically. I'd love to help you achieve your goals of college success.
Check out my 7-min video below for more of my story through substance use and into recovery.
This is how my vision began.
